Cookie Policy
What we store on your device, why, and how to change your mind.

What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. Some are needed for a site to work at all; others are optional and help with things like security or measuring how the site is used. This policy also covers similar technologies such as local storage.
How we handle them
We set only strictly necessary cookies. Nothing optional loads unless you agree to it first. When you first visit, a banner asks whether you'll allow optional cookies, and you can change your answer at any time from the cookie settings link in the footer.
Cookies we use
Short version: one item, set by us, to remember the answer you give our cookie banner. Nothing else.
Strictly necessary — always on
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Expires |
|---|---|---|---|
br_cookie_consent |
Botanic Resources (local storage) | Remembers which cookies you've allowed, so we don't ask on every page | Until you clear it |
Optional — off unless you allow them
We are not currently using anything in this category. We ask anyway so that your preference is already recorded if we add one of the following later:
- Anonymous usage statistics — to see which pages people actually read. If we add this, the specific cookies will be listed here first.
- Extra spam checking on our contact form — our form is currently protected by a hidden field that only automated bots fill in, which involves no cookies and no third party. If spam becomes a problem we may add a "prove you're human" check, which would be provided by a third party and would be listed here.
If you decline, the contact form still works normally. We would rather lose a spam check than lose an enquiry.
Third-party content
All images on this site are served from our own domain, so browsing our gallery doesn't expose you to third-party tracking. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which does not set cookies but does receive your IP address as part of serving the font files. When you send us an enquiry, the contents of that form are processed by Web3Forms in order to deliver it to our inbox.
Managing cookies in your browser
As well as our banner, every major browser lets you block or delete cookies through its settings. Blocking all cookies may stop parts of this or other sites working properly.
